Custom Sized Acrylic Turntable Dust Cover with Cutouts

Description

This custom sized acrylic turntable dust cover is made to order using 3mm or 5mm thick clear acrylic and made to your your chosen internal dimensions. The dust cover is manufactured as a single, seamless piece. As a result, it lifts on and off easily while still protecting your turntable from dust and UV light. Included in the price is three cut-outs, we will need you to send us a drawing before we can start production. Please contact us if your acrylic turntable needs more than three cut outs. All edges, including the cut-outs are laser cut, so have a highly polished finish.

Measuring for the acrylic turntable dust cover

Please note that the sizes you enter refer to the internal display area of the acrylic turntable cover.

• If you choose 3mm acrylic, the external width and depth will be approximately 6mm larger.
• If you choose 5mm acrylic, the external width and depth will be approximately 10mm larger.
• The external height will be greater than the internal height by roughly the thickness of the acrylic used.

When measuring your turntable, ensure sufficient clearance is allowed for the tonearm, counterweight, rear cables, hinges and any protruding controls or accessories.
Some potential measuring mistakes,

• Forgetting rear cable clearance
• Measuring only the plinth
• Not including the counterweight
• Forgetting isolation feet
• Not allowing room to lift the cover on/off

Measuring for the cut-outs

Most of our customers have a cut out at the rear of the dust cover to allow for the phono and power cables to pass through, when measuring for this, please allow enough clearance. Also mark on your drawing whether the distance from the edge of the cover to the cut-out is measured from the inside of the dust cover, or the outside, if you need any help with this then please contact us.

If you want finger lift cut-outs at the sides then we recommend keeping them to a minimum to minimise the chances of dust getting into your turntable.

Will the cover fit my turntable?

Each cover is made to your exact internal dimensions, please measure very very carefully.

Can I have cable cut-outs?

Yes, rear cable cut-outs can be added, just send us a drawing, they are also laser cut, so look shiny and professional.

What acrylic thickness should I choose?

3mm suits smaller covers, but is more prone to damage when accessing your turntable, while 5mm is recommended for larger or wider turntables.

Will it yellow over time?

No, absolutely not, high quality clear acrylic will not yellow, it is UV stable as well as UV blocking (90%).

Does the acrylic reduce sound quality?

The cover is intended for protection when not in use and can be lifted off easily during listening, if you listen with the acrylic in place you may find the sound affected due to vibrations  in the acrylic.

Is it easy to care for the acrylic cover?

Yes it is easy, but you need to be aware of chemicals coming into contact with the acrylic, which can cause damage to it, (still better than damaging your turntable), some of the things to watch are cleaning products (even an old cloth that previously had chemicals on it), spray air fresheners and deodorants, please read our full acrylic care and cleaning guide.
