If you are looking to display your item on the wall to save some desk space, and its too big for our acrylic wall display cases then this could be the perfect product for you. It is a floating shelf design, made with real wood oak veneer, on an mdf core, with concealed steel wall mounting brackets and one of our acrylic display covers. As it has a real wood finish you will be able to stain or varnish to get a different finish if you wish.
Once the oak floating shelf is fitted there will be no visible fixings, you will just see the oak wooden shelf and the display cover.
The oak floating shelf is supplied with the concealed wall mounting brackets, as shown in one of the images, you will need to supply your own screws and wall plugs to fix them to your wall. The shelf and the supports will hold a weight of about 10kg without any problems, but you will have to make sure that your wall fixings will take that weight as well. They are fixed to the wall using 2 screws in each pin, so 4 screws in total. We recommend this is done by a competent DIYer or a professional tradesman.
We supply a drilling jig to help get the hole positioning correct first time.
A fitting guide can be seen here.
This display case is also available without the removable acrylic cover, click here to see it.
The cover is supplied as one piece, with no frame to block the view of your display, this will ensure maximum visibility of your displayed item, with no frame to block the light. This also means there is no need for lighting inside the display case. There are 4 pins in the top of the shelf which locate the cover in place and help prevent it from being knocked off the shelf.
PLEASE NOTE: The sizes you have entered are the sizes for the inside display area of the display case, the external width and depth of the oak floating shelf will be approximately 26mm wider and 19mm deeper (front to back wall). The external height of the display case will be approximately 42mm higher, including the oak floating shelf.
When choosing the inside size of your display case. we recommend allowing at least 25mm clearance all round your displayed item, so that would mean adding 50mm to the width and depth, and 25mm to the height.
The acrylic used in the display cover will block over 90% of UV light.
