Traditional Display Case Bases/Plinths

Our traditional display case bases are made with a hardwood surround, available in mahogany, black and light oak colours. They provide a raised lip around the central display area to locate the clear acrylic display top onto. This central area is covered in a soft baize material which can be in a variety of colours. This combination should give you a wide variety of choices to suit your display and its surroundings.

Modern Display Case Bases

Our modern display case bases are made from two pieces of polished 5mm thick acrylic, held together with a satin chrome aluminium spacer. The bottom 5mm base has 4 rubber feet on the underside to stop it from sliding on, and damaging your furniture. It is slightly larger than the clear acrylic cover which sits on top of it. The four satin finished metal spacers that are fixed to it hold a smaller piece of 5mm thick acrylic 19mm above it, which fits inside the clear acrylic cover and locates it and stops it from sliding off the base.

Display Case Covers

We have 3 different styles of display covers available:-

The small custom display case is made from 5 separate pieces of acrylic, which are machined all round and solvent welded together to produce a display cover with square edges on all sides. The display case is then polished all round.

The stock sized display cases are made from 3mm thick acrylic as well, but these are made from 3 pieces of acrylic. One piece of acrylic is folded in two places to produce a 'tunnel', which then has two ends solvent welded on it, which are machined flush and polished all around. This display case is slightly stronger than the custom sized display cases.

The large custom display case (also used for the ship display cases) is made from three pieces of acrylic, the same as our stock sized range, but we use 5mm thick acrylic instead which is strong enough to go up to the larger sizes. These are also polished all around.
